Have you wondered recently, why Easter falls so late this year?
Easter always falls on a Sunday between March 22 - April 25. This mostly has to do with Lunar Cycles! Believe it or not.
Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon that occurs after the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. Cool right? The vernal (or spring) Equinox typically occurs on March 21 or 22.
This year, a full moon occurred just before March 21st, so the first full moon after that is much later than it usually is.
The lunar cycles and celestial bodies play a role in our world and our culture. It is fitting that here at Craft & Oak, we sell custom star maps of space!
